Planning & Climate Committee

Purpose and Delegated Powers

The Planning & Climate Committee of Filton Town Council reviews planning applications and develops strategies to address climate change and sustainability. Its primary purpose is to consider planning proposals submitted within Filton and make informed recommendations to South Gloucestershire Council and relevant planning officers.

Meetings typically involve investigating planning applications, considering resident feedback, and discussing the overall impact proposed developments have on the environment, with a view to maintaining the town's character.

Beyond planning matters, the committee also focuses on formulating and promoting strategies to tackle climate change, improve local sustainability, and enhance green spaces. This integrated approach supports Filton’s commitment to a greener, more resilient community.
