Pay Multiple
In accordance with the principles of transparency and accountability in local government, Filton Town Council publishes information relating to its pay multiple.
The pay multiple is the ratio between the highest paid employee of the Council and the median (middle) salary of all other Council employees, expressed as a Full-Time Equivalent (FTE). This measure provides an indication of the relationship between the highest level of pay within the organisation and the pay of the wider workforce.
The pay multiple for Filton Town Council as at 5th February 2026 is 1.59.
This has been calculated using the following figures:
- Highest annual Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) pay: £50,269
- Median Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) pay (excluding the highest paid employee): £31,583.50
The pay multiple is therefore calculated as £50,269 divided by £31,583.50, resulting in a ratio of 1.59.
The Council reviews its pay arrangements through its governance and staffing processes to ensure that remuneration remains fair, proportionate and appropriate for the responsibilities of the roles within the organisation.
Filton Town Council is a small local authority, and its staffing structure reflects the operational requirements needed to deliver services to the local community.
